“Fueled by Love…Not Very Logical”

I tried Aura Photography a few months ago at Bagua in the Design District and as I was looking through my desk I saw the picture they gave me with the colors floating around my head.

Going into it, I was skeptical that a camera could pick up colors around my head. I have always known that people can see auras but wasn’t too convinced technology could. I’m still not sure if it was the psychic reading those things about me and programming her camera to reflect them into the image or what. Either way, once I saw the picture full of purples, pinks and a little orange with magentas evenly balanced around my head I was impressed. Not because the colors existed, but because they were so on point with the description of me:

She said the colors that appeared meant that I’m loving, my decisions are fueled by love, I’m not very logical, I have a psychic intuition, I’m a creator, I get things done and I make a difference in the world!

Say "Cheese!"

I liked that description a lot and it made a lot of sense. I’m so sensitive and so driven by love that I always make decisions based off of that love and sometimes my decisions are not always very logical. Ah well.

If you are interested in Aura Photography in Miami, I suggest you call Atena Komar 305-297-5516 or go to her website mysticalflorida.com.

It Takes a Village

“It always amazes me that we can feel sorrow for the abused/neglected child yet contempt for the adult they grow into.”
(paraphrased from a quote of an author I cannot remember!)

One day he will be all grown up..and just as scared...

This quote hits home for me. Working with children in some capacity since I was 17 years old, I have always seen the solution to the problem as relatively simple: Invest in a child today so that they don’t become a problem of tomorrow.

Ask yourself, “Am I doing the most I possibly can to invest into the children of tomorrow?” Whether it be donating money or your time to an after school program, taking the time to mentor children in your neighborhood or even writing letter to your government in support of programs for public schools, it all counts.
If you aren’t doing your best, please don’t complain or be surprised when twenty years from now those same children break into your house and rob you.

It takes a village.

Gay Marriage: Is it Really Hurting You?

Gay Marriage: Is it REALLY hurting you?

This wonderful country was not started by religious men that wanted to impose their strict religion upon the masses. To the contrary it was started by people who were in favor of religious freedom. In fact, Thomas Jefferson found Christianity absolutely absurd. This freedom we now have includes the right NOT to practice any religion whatsoever.
Whether you believe that being gay is a sin or not should have no bearing on their legal HUMAN rights within this country. We should not be mixing church and state. If you don’t agree with gay marriage that is perfectly fine. That is within your moral right. Don’t allow gays to marry IN YOUR CHURCH if that is how you feel. What is NOT within your moral right is to tell other perhaps non-religious people what they can/cannot do outside of your church or organization. Gays are not hurting you. They exist peacefully just trying to live out their NATURAL desires.

Don’t you dare mention anything about straight marriages being any better for the world we live in? The last time I checked the divorce rate was almost half of all marriages. Why deny gay couples the rights to LOVE in a union protected by our country. Do they not deserve death benefits when their lifetime partner passes away just like straight couples?

My opinion? God is Love. God doesn’t hate gays. God created gays! The men who wrote the Bible may have not liked gay men or women but the Creator I am familiar with certainly doesn’t make any mistakes in Her creation.

Oh yeah. If you dislike gays so much I am going to need you to rid your closets of most designer clothing and shoes. Guess what? You have gay created apparel on your back. Be consistent in what you support.

Dealing with Anger and Stress

Have you ever been to the zoo and saw the signs that read, “DO NOT TAP ON THE GLASS?” I know I have. Those animals are not meant to live under constant scrutiny, caged up and surrounded by gawking people with camera flashes going off at least 12 hours a day. Can you imagine the stress those animals are under? Well, that is what humans are going through in this fast paced, work driven society. We have taken on so much stress and people are repeatedly “banging on our glass.”

We aren’t meant to live like this. Life should be much simpler. We need to take the time to enjoy the simple things in life. A walk in the park, day at the beach or even just sitting on our porches reading a book can all help us de-stress. We need this time to unplug ourselves from the matrix which is our day to day work-filled, time consuming schedules. At the end of the day ask yourself what you really accomplished. Did you spend meaningful time with your family? Did you learn something new? Or did you just invest all your energy into producing for a system (that only rewards you in money that you then spend on all your bills for STUFF you most likely don’t need?) A recent study has shown that the more humans acquire STUFF the LESS happy they are actually becoming. That inverse relationship is shocking. I bet hundreds of years ago people were much happier even though they didn’t own much.
Most likely, feeling like you are a hamster spinning on a wheel but not quite going anywhere is what is causing pent up anger and stress. I know this feeling personally. You get in your bed feeling utterly exhausted, yet you aren’t sure that you can even pinpoint exactly what you did to make you feel that tired.

UNPLUG. Hours of Facebook can be exhausting. Keeping up with an imaginary online world can be exhausting. Use your vacation time! In some countries in Europe vacation time is mandatory! Last but not least, if you die tomorrow your job will replace you. You are not replaceable to your family and friends.

BREATHE. Breathing exercises really help when you feel like you are going to explode. Count back from ten and try to remember what really matters.

Try not to disappoint your kids by missing an important school play or playtime with them because of work duty stress or anger. In the end, the only thing real is Love. More time spent loving and relaxing will undoubtedly alleviate some of your stress and calm your anger.

Que Rico!!!

Hi everyone!

The team of wonderful people at PlanetPit.com (Pitbull’s website) wanted to do something different…They wanted to feature a dozen or so women for a project called “The Que Rico Project.” Wanting to break from the norm, they decided to choose women that were entertaining, doing works in the community and weren’t shy about being interviewed (basically not just women that can pose half naked.) LOL

I was recently chosen as one of the women in Miami to be featured! In fact, my feature is the first one they released on the brand new site.

I hope you can take a second to check it out and leave a comment if you feel compelled to do so. Many of the viewers only expected (and wanted to see) breasts and other body parts! Although the feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, a few of the people that left comments on the youtube video seemed quite confused as to why the video wasn’t more revealing. So if you have a chance and you indeed liked the content, let them know! Let’s change the culture and show people that you can’t always judge a book by it’s cover.

HUGE thank you to Teach, Supa Cindy, Derick G, Paragonn and the entire Planet Pit team for the honor!

We Makin Movies Baby!

The other day I was happy to get to work on set of the short film, “Long Hard Road” written and directed by a close, talented friend of mine Safwah Adil Milhomme (Love Shack Films.)

I was extra excited to work with the ever so talented Ryan De Freitas and get our Oscar quality performance on…

I won’t give away too much of the script but I will say it was right up my Crazy Lady alley.

Here are a few pics from behind the scenes:

Shooting with MQ Images

On Easter Sunday I braved the cold to shoot with Marquest. It was sooooo windy and cold outside (cold to me is in the 60s because yes, I’m spoiled.) We got started early to make sure that we caught the sunrise. This unfortunately meant that hair and makeup started at 5am! Juliette Cifuentes did my makeup and I just left my own hair naturally curly.

Stripping down to this bikini in the early morning cold took more than a little bit of determination but I was ready for the challenge. The wind however, was not playing nicely with my hair. South Pointe is beautiful in the early morning and I would love to go there just to relax one morning and watch the sunrise…with clothes on. :)

Regardless, we got some pretty cool images!

PS. If you like the bikini, hit up www.lilanikole.com. She has some dope ones to choose from!

Music Video time…

Last weekend I had the pleasure of being a lead girl in the pop/island tune “1 in a million” by ScopeMR ft. Sol-R. The song is positive and upbeat plus I LOVE supporting my fellow island massive.

We had fun filming although the weather was gloomy…but we kept the party going. Check out the video from behind the scenes! :)

Shooting for the Lila Nikole Collection…

I had the pleasure of shooting a six page editorial spread for a magazine (shhhh…it’s a secret until it’s published!)

We did the shoot in a secret swamp location in North Miami with mosquitos, crabs, mud, bugs, you name it! We had a good time and the pictures came out pretty dope.

Huge thank you to Lila Nikole Collection, Unique Photography and Design, Sasha “Ms. Kippish,” Juliette Cifuentes and Davis Multimedia!

Hosting for The Makeva Harold Foundation

Hi folks! I had the pleasure of being both the host and emcee of the Le Chic Couture fashion show at Harley Davidson of Palm Beach. This foundation helps both underpriveledged youth and adults get back on their feet by providing resources, workshops and trainings.

The fashion show was crazy! Footage on the way!
