“BOSS LADIES BUSINESS ISSUE” of Blackmen Magazine

Hi friends!!

I mentioned a few months ago that Blackmen Magazine chose to feature me as one of the many beautiful women in their Money Sex Body issue. The issue is jam packed full of women that are doing big things in their respective careers. Shout out to my girls Lila Nikole and Simply Jess that are also featured in the issue!

I am proud to share the pictures with you. The evening of shooting in the swamp was the toughest shoot I have ever been a part of! lol

Thanks again to the entire team that made it possibe:

Emerge 2 Trade Show..Hosted by Yours Truly

The long wait it finally over! If you missed the Emerge Trade Show you can now see for yourself exactly what went down. From talented designers to sexy models strutting their stuff in the clothes and swimwear, Emerge 2 had a lot to offer everyone in attendance. Taking place at Zadok Art Gallery in the Wynwood District, Emerge 2 was a great success. Special, special, special thanks to Unique Photography and Design and Film team for putting the video together and filming every awesome moment.

Sidenote: The slight issue with sound quality was a technical problem with the venue that was not in Unique Photography and Design’s control. Nonetheless, it turned out GREAT!

I Love Paula Patton

(A picture of some of my girls along with Paula on my birthday weekend at the American Black Film Festival)

You may have seen Paula Patton in films such as Idewild with Andre 3000, De Ja Vu alongside Denzel Washington, or as the beautiful gold digging cousin of Queen Latifah’s character in Just Wright.

I love Paula’s acting, her spirit, her looks and her ability to juggle her career and family. I can totally see her as the next Halle Berry. I admire her laid back beauty and style. She’s the woman that can look stunning dressed up and equally as amazing in jeans and a t-shirt.

A long time ago, I saw this shoot she did with Giant Magazine and fell in LOVE with it. I told myself that I wanted to recreate the look but with my own spin on it. Here are some of her amazing images…

The artistic direction for our shoot below was a collective effort. I styled it myself, Ms. Kippish enhanced my already curly hair adding her magic touch and Melissa did a dope job on the smokey lids. Unique Photography and Design was the company responsible for the photography. I loved every second of this shoot! Here is my tribute to Paula:

I look forward to seeing more of Paula in the near future!

SO MUCH TO SAY….and then a lil controversy…

Where to Start??

I guess I will break it down by topics….

WORK
I have been super busy these past few months which has been a great thing. The Hustle Hard Remix is out! It got over 5 million hits on WorldStar Hip Hop within the first 24 hours! The video is up on the page.
Also, I was featured as one of Miami’s Hottest Mamis in honor of Mothers Day. Derick G put together a cast of beautiful women that are all making moves in some way or another and that all hail from the South Florida area. He interviewed us all on what the pros and cons of being a mother in the entertainment industry. See the video here:

In addition to the I was asked to be the feature model for an article for a new magazine EZVIP. A good friend of mine, Marvin Ady wrote the article “A Visitor’s Guide to the Women in Miami Nightclubs”

I also participated (and helped style) a photo shoot for Rapper “B Nice.” Shot by Unique Photography and Design, this conceptual shoot turned out extraaaa fly…but what else would you expect from the best photography studio and crew in Miami?

Lastly I have been working on a short film The 420 Gang…I will not ruin the surprise for you but I will tell you I have a fight scene dressed in tight leather and vinyl…sexy and sweaty all at the same time!

PERSONAL LIFE
I took a wonderful vacation with one of my besties, fellow actress/model Claudia Jordan to the beautiful island of Jamaica. This is an annual trip that we take to celebrate the birthday of Miami radio host Lorenzo “Ice Tea” Thomas. We went off the resort and climbed Dunn River Falls. After a mini photoshoot with our little cameras (we couldnt resist..) we climbed up to the top of the falls felt AMAZING!!!! After, we enjoyed the soulful voice of our homie Raheem Devaughn at the annual “white party.”

CONTROVERSY: THE COLOR ISSUE
Soooo..I have been sifting through blogs and reading the comments of many people regarding the state of music videos and the modeling industry as a whole. I can officially say that the attitude toward them has been of disgust. Are we mostly disgusted with the content of what rappers have to say? Not so much. The backlash that I have been recieving is because of the “color issue.” As you flip the pages of magazines and turn the stations to music videos, commercials, etc. you will find that many people have taken aim at the lighter skinned models being booked for the projects. Is there a color issue in America and across the globe? Yes! Should more consideration be taken for booking minorities of every complexion? Of course! I just think people need to re-direct their anger toward the artists or even the marketing directors. Why can’t we demand that they show all beautiful shades of white, yellow, brown and black? Why do you continue to support the artists by buying their music when they SAY IN THEIR SONGS that they “only like redbones” etc? Where is the anger toward the industries promoting it? Don’t be angry at me or the other “lighter skinned” women booking the roles!! Dont get on blogs and continue to widen the color gap among ourselves. We all need to eat and feed our families no matter what shade!! Let’s join together and make this color issue OUR problem..a problem that has been forced on us since slavery….not just a light skinned vs dark skinned battle. Let’s all just be one HUMAN family.

Hustle, Hustle, Hustle, HARD!

Hello! It’s been a very long time since I have updated my blog! I’d like to believe that it’s because of how extremely busy I have been. The reality is just that every time I begin to update it, I find something more fun to do….

I have completed many projects in the past few months and I am very excited to share a few of them with you…

I had the pleasure of working with Derick G again this time on the Ace Hood “Hustle Hard G Mix” video. This video stars Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. There were six beautiful women in this video (including myself) and I had many roles to play: sexy teacher, gangta girl, chicken eater (you’ll see!) and many more. I had a fun time with the cast and crew of this music video and am looking forward to it’s release. Busta Rhymes stopped through to do his cameo as did Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and more.

I also acted in a short film for a very famous men’s magazine’s website, (Think BUNNY!) I play a FULLY CLOTHED assassin. Due to it’s controversial nature I will simply say that this sexy 007 short film takes the viewer on an exciting tour of some of Miami’s most thrilling attractions.

Unique Film Productions also took the time to film one of my shoots with OTB Ent. While we shot they captured my most silly moments and you can see this video on my video reel page.

Would you catch a grenade for me? Well, if your name is Trever Off Key then you wouldn’t. We collaborated on “Miss My Cooking” and we are back again to parody Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” with “Clapper” directed by Roger b Stillz. Check this video out on my reel page as well.

Talk to guys next week!!!
